Hand Dredge Home Made Nozzles

Greetings Gold Dredgers,

On my last California gold prospecting trip, 25 Sep - 4 Oct 10, I found my 1 1/4 inch hand dredge VERY useful for sucking out cracks, crevices and holding points for gold...... :P

Up at Downiwville, CA, I found a REALLY deep crevice, as I dug and sucked it out, and could get my 20 inch Keene crevice tool WAY down into it, maybe 10+ inches, and I could pour water from a bucket into it to suck out the loosened material, but my hand dredge nozzles were WAY too short (6 inches maybe) to get all the way to the bottom and suck out that "good stuff" materal...... Hated to leave that crevice with maybe the best material still at the bottom. Pickers, nuggets???

So, I decided to make several custom 1/2 inch thin wall nozzles today for my two 1 1/4 inch hand dredges, 12 inches long. Only cost a few bucks at Lowes and in my garage.....

Wish me luck on my next trip out!!
