I'll be working Beaver Creek solo with my 5" from Saturday thru Tuesday. If you'd like to join me, call me, I could use another hand or two.

I've finally found some bedrock, just gotta open the hole up big enough to work in. Lots of cracks and crevices to clean out. This is my fifth weekend working this creek. The first three weekends, I coulda gotten more gold in 2 shovel fulls from the Arkansas River. I dug on the first hole for 2 weekends. Went down fourteen feet and never got out of loose material. The next 2 weekends I worked on a spot about 100 yards downstream. The material was packed tight from the surface down to about ten feet, where I hit bedrock. About the time I found bedrock, a lightening storm moved in and somebody came over and pulled me out of the hole. It hailed for the next hour and a half. It muddied up the creek to much to dredge, so I started pulling my equipment out. Not one of the cracks has been cleaned out yet, other than a shot with my blaster nozzle. So lots of prying and rock breaking gonna be happening this weekend. Not much gold yet, but, when I panned out the material from the surface of the bedrock, I had a nice smile in the pan.

They have over 600 pigs there. There is a whole crew that feed and care for them. The place is spotless. I spent 3 days there about 3 years ago.
