North Fork of South Platte River

Was near Grant Co this weekend, and noticed portions of the river that seemed accessible for dredging. Has anyone dredged/prospected this area, or is it not that great?

I have dipped a pan along there, and it was not encouraging.
Seems like it drains from a good area, but I guess it isn't flowing that direction.
