South Park and back again

Postby nebraskadad » Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:17 pm

We returned to the heat today after a week of vacation in CO.

Did get some color in the couple of hours I was able to skim out of vacation time. Went to High Hope and Cache Creek.

Pics of the prospecting are still on the camera. GPOC was acting as claim host for the BLM at Cache Creek. The place was full of people. My wife shot pics of my daughter on the raft from High Hopes as I did some panning.

Have some great pics and a video of my daughter on a rafting trip coming down through High Hopes. Will try to post a few of the better ones up here and when i get the video on youtube will post the link in the thread.

Went over Hoosier, Cottonwood and Independence passes for day trips, (daughter and wife's) shopping in Vail and Aspen. Great Scenery..

More to follow. Long day driving back across the plains. Ready for MY pillow.

You guys get to Alma the South Park Saloon had a prime rib special for $9.95, great food. The menu said it was 12oz and we must have got 32oz each a Bake Potato, Corn on the cob, and walked away feeling very full. My wife had left overs I ate the following day..

Russ, we are looking at the 3rd of September on the Nemaha if you are up for it on your way west. It is a bit out of the way.

I like the rocker box, but the price is pretty steep :o , and I'm not one who knows how to make things :? .
