Saturday Gold in Clear Creek

Postby Gold_Reef_Ron » Mon Mar 15, 2010 7:16 am

Went down on Clear Creek here in Denver on Saturday for a few hours. Found some nice small flake, (I did say small flake) and one nice piece of wire gold. Great day, to be out.

Think the upper reaches on highway 6 are still frozen up? My aunt and uncle invited me to tour a foundry in boulder somewhere and I thought I might sluice a bit while I am down that way.

Drove up the Canyon this weekend. Many places still frozen over. Probably could find a place that gets more sun to set up a sluice. Saw a few open spots.

Dang, that looks good! Lets keep an eye on the weather reports. If we could get another day like today on the weekend, I'd be willing to bring the 4" and we could probably get a few more to celebrate the start of this years dredging.

Sorry California guys, we can dredge but don't get the gold you do when we do. We still have fun though.

Keep on reclamating Hoser!

Clear Creek, Ah, That is where I pan & sluice when I visit my good friends there in Colorado.
Must say I am always very happy, color in every pan some more than others. :D
The day of prospecting usually ends with a little ching-ching at Blackhawk. ;)

Leonard, hey don't feel sorry for us, I am glad that you guys can still enjoy dredging.

It's supposed to be crappy again this weekend. It won't be long though before the weekends will be nice.
