Douglas Creek 2014

Postby h20prospector » Fri Mar 21, 2014 7:58 am

Haven't been on the forum in about 6 months.

Been going rounds with Medicare, my sleep specialist, and other docs, trying to get the correct machine to get proper therapy for COSA. It's like trying to pull teeth that aren't there. Also, the kids got me a new computer, and I've been learning how to use it  (it's a Mac)

Putting all the medical crap aside, is there going to be an outing this year to DC? I've only met GO, Russ, Ed, Corky, & Dave. I've never had the privilege to meet others. Only read their posts. Realize most of us are getting up in age, but wanted to meet others before I call it quits. Also realize the gas prices are pretty darn high, and won't allow lots to come. Like Russ for sure. ;)

From reading several of the posts, if anyone forgets to bring some of their pills, there, more than likely be a few of us with spares.

Geno's ashes haven't been put to rest at DC have they?

Pat, Genos ashs havent been sent and id assume they arent going to be. ! guess that Genos wife (Cathy) is haveing a hard time doing so.and I also assume that everything is still up in the air with anything this year.Everyone has their own little issues with money/health/timing/vacation with our wives,ETC. it looks like itll be a waiting game untill everyone figures out what they will be able todo and when! My wife wants to go to Colorado but only when its cool and NOT hot or any fires! its getting close to 2 years (July)since i have been out. Everyones talking but nothing has firmed up yet!

Russ,

We are heading to CO the end of September again this year. We really enjoyed it last year. Season change is amazing. We spent maybe 6 hours total at Cache Creek and High hopes the rest of the time was sightseeing and enjoying the weather.

I've not been to Douglas since before Geno passed, when my dad came up with.
Wife likes going to her aunt's cabin, and having creature comforts now.

I got a call from Kathy Wiley. She wants to come to Douglas Creek this 4th of July with some of her family for a memorial for Geno. This could be her last chance to come so we need to try to make it happen. If you can, mark out a few days around the 4th for a sendoff for Geno.

Looks like the 4th lands on a Fri. I'll try to make it for a 3-4 day weekend. I really enjoyed meeting Geno the year I made it there.
