That looks like it's way up in the headwaters above Leadville. I haven't heard of anyone working up there.

I agree Leonard. That is up in the glaciated plane above Leadville. I don't think anyone found any gold up there in the past. But I guess you don't know unless you take a pan up and try.

Claimable land along the Ark is very hard to come-by these days. I am truly blessed to own a few. If any of you millionaires out there want to buy one, and come with a heavy wallet, I would be happy to talk. As long as dredging remains legal in Colorado, the price/scarcity of them will stay up.

I was wondering if Randy knew this guy? he is using one of Randy's Vids.

As an aside, we bought an acreage that abuts our acreage in the South Park basin. We now have 12 acres. :-)

According to my research, there was some placers taken out of that area in the old days. Mostly out of Buckeye Gulch, with a few other minor deposits along the headwaters. There is currently five claims along that stretch of water, and this guy owns three of them.
There is also a few claims in upper Tennessee gulch, and in East Tennessee Gulch, close to the pass. I looked Tennessee Gulch over last spring. There is a lot of tailings along the middle section of the creek, problem is there is a lot of private land along the creek as well, up to and including those tailings. The claims in Tennessee Gulch are further up stream from there.
Hope this is of some use.
