Here's a few pictures of John prospecting in southern Colorado. There was a lot more water there that last year and almost no bugs. It was great!

Thats looking toward the Black canyon on the Gunnison. The walls are almost vertical for 1,000 feet down.

It was a great week!

John would be the first to say I really didn't hit it too hard. He was in the water by 9:00am every morning while I rarely did more than a couple hours a day. After that, I hit the camp and the ice cubes and the Evan Wiliams bourban whiskey on the rocks. To say I relaxed would be an understatement. When we found the nugget on video, I didn't even want any more. The concentrates from the trip are in the barn waiting for a good day later this weekend.

It was tremendous! :)

More on the trip to the High Hopes later.

Thanks for posting the pics Leonard. I can show this to Mrs. OKJohn to prove to her we did not spend the week partying in Vegas. ;)

I just showed Lynne your rock, Leonard, and she called you the Third, or a Tern or something. She is jealous.
I think it is Great! Congrats on a great time and a great find.

Oh one other thing, John, that spot on the VBlack Canyon whdere you had that pic taken is eerie. See, Ihave in two places a pic of one of my best friends, taken there; he was on his way to South Dakota on his Indian for the big rally, but he was killed about 20 minutes after the pic was taken as he approached Gunnison. Bizarre to see that spot again. Take care!

Wow, Z! I am awful glad we did not have anything negative happen around there. But it sure was an awesome view.

Both Leonard and I are afraid of heights...Leonard worse than me. I crawled up to the edge on my hand-and-knees to look over the edge. Leonard wouldn't even get close. I had never seen such a sheer cliff.

Here's a picture of some of John's gold. I haven't panned my concentrates out yet but I didn't get as much other than the nugget as I only ran a few hours a day. I had more fun sitting in camp and consuming John's ice cubes.
