Quebec or Maine gold panning?

Does anyone know where I can go gold panning and/or sluicing in either Quebec, Canada or Maine where I might have a chance of getting at least some decent fine gold? I am located in north Vermont now, about 60 miles from the Canadian border. We have some very sparse fine gold here, but I would like to find something better by driving a few hours.
