SF Umpqua mining outing report...small crowd and just a few dredgers...likely as expected. More miners were hi-banking from Myrtle Creek and down river for a couple of miles.

Seems to be lots of confusion over legality issues and permits for above steam mining. Seems many however did get their DNR and DEQ OR dredging permits. Sadly for me that I had a medical issue and had to come home early. At 71 old age sucks!! Cheers!

The creation of "confusion over the legality of issues" was the goal.
People are inherently law abiding for the most part. If the average guy cant figure out if he is violating the law he will just avoid the activity all together...which is what they really wanted

Anyone hear of an Oregon DEQ permit called the "600PM"? Some were saying that this is the Oregon permit required for above stream mining operations. I recall the 700PM for dredging that is still required.
