I agree, Sean. As far as the dredging ban goes, that would have completely severed the problem from the rest of us in California and we would still be at it dredging while "jefferson state" was hashing out their own problems.

:D :D :D Very Nice Thought, Indeed. :D :D :D

When I was a kid growing up in the mid 40's & 50's, northern California wanted to split from the rest of California for various reasons. One of the reasons was that they had made southern Cal fertile by giving up a lot of water rights to them. I'm sure glad I left there in 64. I've never regretted leaving on bit, and it's current problems make me all the more thankful I did. Now if their crazy ideas don't spread to Colorado.......

Southern California will NEVER let northern California be separated from the state because of the water that comes from northern California, southern California would dry up and blow away without control of the water from the northern portion of the state and they know that, they will never let go of that water!!!

There is a fight now in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida over water from northern Georgia that eventually flows into Alabama and Florida, Alabama and Florida wants equal control of the north Georgia water, and it looks like a Federal Judge is going to give them that control!!!

The declared north/south split of 60's is not to be confused with jefferson state secession movement of 1941, it is a very small portion of the state up near Oregon border Siskiyou co. region. Too bad it never happened, for both!!

i can fix all of the states water problems. my fix would water just about every state. put pipe lines all over, the states then if you have a sruplus of water you fill the pipe line its pumped to storage areas to be used during drouts. like right now cal is getting tons of rain. they would be putting water in to the system. later they can get what they put in to the system back out. the mid west is prone to flooding most of the time. we would be shiping water most of the time.
