Dividing up a huge nugget!!

There is a new gold rush going on in Sudan Africa, they are finding huge gold nuggets using Minelab GPX 4500 metal detectors, some of you may have heard of this, here is a video of some of the "nugget shooters" dividing up a huge nugget with a hammer and chisel , there are several other huge nuggets awaiting the same fate shown in this video.

Can't figure why people do such things, I have witnessed this stupidity for myself.

Oh my God, that is just sickening, no other way to say it Now, not even them, could be that stupid as to do this. And that other nugget, just waiting for that same thing to happen to it.... I just wish one time, for that happen to me at Snoring Gramps. I would immediately be heading for Steve's (El Dorado) house, and have that baby put onto something that would just gleam with all it's glory, and beauty... I don't know what I would have it set in, but by the time I find it, I'll have the answer to it...

OK, I got it to come up. If they were using, what I believe is the best gold pan in the world ( The Goldsaver Goldpan), they would be finding a lot more of the gold that they are losing back to the mighty Euphrates River. Now if it were me int hat river, I would be at the bottom of that clump of small trees just up stream from them. I'd be digging all around those roots. I wonder if they are allowed to to cut into bank, like we can't do down on the Mokelumne River? Thanks for sharing this one with us Gremlin....

I lived in the middle East for about 12 years, and while I cringe at the sight of a magnificent, as well as large, nugget being chiseled apart, this is the make up of these people. They don't care if it's broken up or not, it's going to get them some money, and believe me money talks in a poor country (poor where there at). Yes we westerners know that a large nugget brings top dollar, especially if it's in one piece and has no pick gouges or marks, but to these people what they will get from the sale, and yes they will get ripped of and someone will make a profit, it's probably 20 times what they would make in a year, but only my two cents worth on the subject
