“No matter what you call it, if it sucks like a dredge and spews like a dredge, it’s a suction dredge,” said Jonathan Evans, toxics and endangered species campaign director at the Center for Biological Diversity. “Suction dredge mining in any form pollutes our waterways with toxic mercury, destroys sensitive wildlife habitat, contaminates our fisheries, and harms important cultural resources.”

If this isn't a bare face lie, I don't know what one is. Pollution is an additive operation. You can not pollute by just moving bottom material from point a to point b! If anything suction dredging removes heavy metals and minerals from the water shed.

Just My Humble Opinion! :x

so does this mean the state must drop all in steam, work, to save the salmon. after all trying to save the fish there doing more damage to the environment than a guy with a gold dredge.

mite be time to look at the ways there trying to save the fish. the way i see it in all the reports the fish are so fragile they should of died out a long long time ago.

If they're so horny to save the salmon, why don't they stop selling over 10 million licenses to kill said salmon.

If the court order had been reversed, the parties involved would have been notified. (they have not) Mining with the Gravel Transfer System continiues on the Klamath... and will, at least until the 30th..
It now appears that the court order will remain in effect at least until Aug. 27 (the new hearing date in San Bernardino)

i wonder, has any one showed the state how much cash there losing by keeping the rules in place. then i would show them the projects that the state does that do more harm than dredges. i know there is a sand castle building day they use heavy equipment on the beaches.
