Merry Christmas, happy New Year

Postby golden optimist » Sat Dec 24, 2016 6:30 am

Been kind of quiet here lately so I'll wish you all Happy Holidays, no matter how or what you celebrate. We all are in good health for our age here. Who could ask for more. Well, a little Wild Turkey would be great but I don't do that any more.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all. Grandkids on my lap. Telling them gold mining and hunting stories and showing them a bit of gold. Hope I can get all my nuggets back. Doesn't really matter though. Each one represents a different story and a different adventure. Won't be long before they are old enough to spend some time at a real working gold mine!!!

I'll add my Christmas greetings and also wish all you gold seekers a Happy 2017.

A few years back I retired from dredging/mining but I sure miss the adventures. Recall the music of the rocks rumbling thru my sluice and the beauty in the many forest areas I had worked. Over thirty years on dozens of rivers and creeks with dredges from a 2-1/2 to an eight, and from Alaska to California. I thought age was finally telling me to dispose of my old gear so I sold most everything. Yes, I know you can't currently dredge in OR and CA and there are not many old timers tossing cobbles around anyway. With heart problems and some other ailments perhaps I should be content in my memories and my advancing years. Well I went and did something on a whim.

I had an opportunity that I could not pass up..I bought a used 3" dredge, older model with a Honda 4 and air...everything was included and it still works great. Hey, I'm also an older model too and I still work (well, mostly thanks to medical science) but who knows...maybe this summer, etc. I could always teach someone a lot younger to work the nozzle. Hey Leonard and Russ...want to join me?

All the best to you........LD
