John, what's the reason for the really small sluice? Seem counter to what is the norm? What is that, 8in box on a 4in nozzle?

The biggest reason is it was what I had.If I was to build one for this nozzel I would make it 10 to 12 at most.
The three uses a 10" box with the skinney boxes I dont have to fight rocks hanging up do to the surging. The guys with the 3 and a 14" box have to hand clean their box every few minits.
These nozzels used this way will move a enormus amount of material if allowed to suck a little air too,suging.
Deep smooth water in the box is what I try for to get the best recovery. Lucky for me the gold here is big unless I run bank material.
The 4 is a hard beast to run many guys just cant get them to suck at all. The riffles at the end of the box are for the round qautz ball nuggets they are the hardest to stop in a sluice.
