permits arent required in Wyoming anymore, but they want a letter sent to them stateing where, who, when, what kind of equipment, all of the contact info sent to them. and to be safe, id carry a copy of that letter to verify that you have complied with their request! and get a permit for your ATV if you bring/use one! these permits can be bought from the WyCo resturant on Hiway 230. i dont have the address of the Wtoming people right handy but you need todo this to prtect yourself. its free!

so I'm guessing that I can just drop in on my way out there and give them the letter and that will be fine? And yea I think its best to keep a copy Dont want any problems with the BLM.

I have a question about the GPAA claim, there is nothing about this claim in my book, is this a local claim? I was wondering about gaining access to that as I am a GPAA member.

we will be on Leonards claim. its not a GPAA claim. but there are several GPAA claims there. in the current mining guide book on page WY-6 theres 2 claims. we should be just south of them. and then theres another group of them on page WY-7 and they are just around the corner from us. i guess you could hand the district ranger the info but i always mail it to them. theyre probly not open when i drive through in the early AM!!

yep, if im not mistaken, Leonards claim is open to us as long as he is there. it will not be open when he leaves. so the GPAA option is a good alternative when Leonard leaves to go back to "WORK". UGHHHHHH,im developing a distaste for that word! hey Leonard, how many more months do you have untill the big "R" day comes?haha we will have to have a pre-retirement party this year up on the creek!

I'll be there with the 5" Dahlke necked down to 3" :o and I'm gonna find bedrock if it kills me! I can't wait to meet all the old and new friends...especially Hoser John, his posts crack me up and I know that he can really teach me a thing or two about dredging. I've even brewed a special batch of homebrew for Leonard.
Russ, hope you're bringing your quad...I'd also like to do a little beeping up at the Reservoir.
Ed, bring the wife...she's a great lady and cook!

Man if it weren't the 4th of July I could make it, family reunion every year in Wisconsin around the 4th. Been meaning to try my luck in Wyoming since I am so close already.

The 4th of July is about the only time we are at Douglas Creek. Labor Day it's the Arkansas. You should be able to join us there if you want. Plans aren't in concrete for there yet as it's so far away.
