Supreme court said Casinos are legal. You can take it up with them but you are going to loose.
No amount of ranting and raging will help the miners cause,- it only gives the greenies more ammo to use against us.
We tried prohibition H'it dinnt woik. I cant believe that folks in the mining community are against Booze. Right or wrong which ever way you look at it the treaties are here to stay.
And let's leave Walmart out of it they get enough crap.

You seem to have made a few assumptions
Im not against booze, I'm against greedy people.
I am not suggesting prohibition of the public. I am suggesting that we enforce all aspects of the treaty...starting with no booze in their casino.
The treaties plainly require that and they are here to stay, right?

You're going around in circles no matter what you try to come up with it will not change. It has all been tried before and it didn't work,- see "Einstein's definition of insanity"
Greed is good, that is what makes miner go out and put up with all kinds of hardship, just to find that next color in the bottom of the pan, with out greed there wouldn't be any mining. GREED IS GOOD, you as a miner should know this.

true, but folks have to remember that" Gold Fever" is just an other word for Greed.
The trick is to use greed to the right end and not to loose one's humanity. That's the hard part.

One part of the Klamath treaty:

ARTICLE 10.
It is hereby provided that if any member of these tribes shall drink any spirituous liquor, or bring any such liquor upon the reservation, his or her proportion of the benefits of this treaty may be withheld for such time as the President of the United States may direct.

I wonder !! Obama ????

All of the treaties have similar language but no one has the cajones to attempt to enforce it because it is political suicide to do anything against the tribes except coddle and enable their every whim. The liberal guilt runs very deep and knows no limits.

Up here we have tribal cigarette factories and gasoline stations that sell without tax but at near retail prices, they pocket the difference. No other "Sovereign Nation" can come into america and buy land and have it become their sovereign land but the tribes can and then expect endless subsidies and handouts. All of this well out side of the word an intent of the treaties.

DJR you sound like you have a lot of Native pride. You attempt to draw a comparison between native greed and gold fever but I see it different. I work hard for my gold and if you were to do the math I probably make less than minimum wage doing it...but I earn every flake.
Tribal members only need to register with the tribe to collect their share of the casino profits (typically about $2000/mo. for each person) and at that point all they need to do is roll down to the bank in their Escalade to deposit...and complain about the white man ruining their heritage. That is greed

The problem is not the individuals that get their money from the casino. The problem is the idiots that go there thinking they will get rich by gambling. It's the GREED that makes them take their money to the casino, and I tell you what I wish I owned a casino let all them greedy fools bring me their money. I won't complain.
It's legal get over it,
No one said you didn't earn the gold you find, but it's the thought that You will be the one that makes the next big find and it will bring you fortune (if you got any sense you don't care about the fame) that little part that makes you go back ,and try and try again, that is what is called greed, there is no other name for it. Greed is good.
