the squirrels got my aluminum gutters also!they chewed the edges untill they got holes in them. pepper spray also works on gutters and on your pontoons .hanging them is also a good idea w/pepper spray cause the squirrels/wood rats climb trees also!

Yup, hose too.
Bear might smack around the sluice but one bite and he'll leave it. Had a bear rip a gas tank off a motor on a winch once. :?:
Back in '92 left a brand new 5" in the canyon for the winter, to come back in the spring to find that it was scrap, definitely bears and maybe some mice or maybe otters. Lesson learned.

Ain't it kinda strange you find abandonded dredges strewn throughout the canyon, left sittin' for many a years on the banks where the miners quit.
And not one thing wrong with them other than weathering, but dang it, if I should leave something there over the winter.

Cables won't deter a squirrel. Them goomers can climb like crazy.
If ya run the cable through a large metal funnel they can't get past that, but they might jump from the tree to your floats. They can jump pretty dang far too. ;)
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.
Now, I just have to find the time to put the dang thing together.

I hear rodents are allergic to peppermint. So grow some or put cotton balls with peppermint oil where ever you do not want them to be. My pastor tried it he said they could see the squirrels actually avoiding his entire yard! :ugeek:
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
