After selling my equipment business last year I acquired a Gold Cube to process the buckets of cons I'd put away from numerous past mining adventures. Some asked why not process the cons after those dredging/high-banking trips instead of storing them for so many years. Guess I wanted to save these buckets for my retirement and for some fun in my later years. FYI, I no longer dive/dredge for health reasons and I've sold my dredging equipment.
Anyway, I went thru the last bucket this weekend and recovered 0.87 dwt. from dredging Oregon's Josephine Creek and the Illinois River in August of 1999. Two weeks ago I processed cons from dredging on the Klamath River (in July, 2001) near Seattle Creek...that produced 1.78 dwt. The final assessment...Gold Cube worked great, got down to a couple of cups of concentrates. For final finish work I used a blue bowl. All told the twenty-one buckets of cons netted me a gold total of 11.27 dwt. That's over a half ounce troy.
Best of all I enjoyed the fun in this effort and as well as the recollections of many mining adventures from years past. All the best...and gold to all.
