I don't think I lost much. My main problem was an external hard drive that was backing up my computer. I just figured that while I was at it, I'd update the computer also. I can still boot up the old computer so when I get the new one up and running, I'll pull the old hard drive and copy it. I just won't have email for a couple of days. Leonard
Thats nutin...a few months ago I had a minor glitch and decided to fix it by going to a restore point. I started it and got a cup of coffee. I returned to a new desktop...brand new I have not paid attention...at all...and in about 4 clicks I has installed a backup, not a restore point. The problem was that it was my first backup from 2 years ago. Every document and every photo I have taken for the last 2 years...poof Sometimes I am am my own worst enemy
If you use your old computer as a "target disk" then your old computer is like an external hard drive and you can transfer any of the old stuff to your new computer without problems. You will never use anything
