It changes everyear from 3-4' to 20+ feet dependent on flows in winter as that gravel really moves around during high water-or as this years no water ain't nuttn' goin' nowhere yet-John

Sorry no mo' accurate info as that high up the ol'Yuba can become a monster at times tearing up the banks, trees and gravel redistribution is huge in flood years. Like our upper Sacramento at Hazel creek-was 2 inches to a foot, now over 30-40' of overburden for years now. John :?

I agree with John. I used to dredge at the Golden Slide Mine about a mile up stream from Good years bar towards Downieville. I have hit bedrock as shallow as 4 feet to about 18 feet. Beyond the golden slide towards Downieville I have not dredged. I have dredged above Downieville. The place I always wanted to dredge was at Coyoteville but it was private property. I haven't been back since 1999.

:D Your not the only one salivating in the day about hitting Coyoteville HARD. Only person I ever heard of hitting it was Larry Wilson,RIP, back in the early 70s. It was supposed to be not dredged and that ol'mountain of a man-6'10" and 350 lbs a muscle -said it was great but never got permission to return. He got a few weeks to test for the owners at the time. If I woulda, coulda, mighta, may oh well I'll never know now-John PS-The late great Karl Von Mueller had a righteous claim on Lavazolli(sp) creek.I got to spend the day with him and you could pull nuggets from cracks all over the place. Helped work on the road-hahahah goat trail-so got a half day a free mining, frigid, deep canyon but GOLD wow
