An oldie but goodie!

Many of you know BillBrew and Grivy. After knowing them for quite a while, this story seems even more appropriate then when I originally wrote it!

http://www.golddredger.com/grivy/ariz/desert1.htm

Any resemblance between this and a true story would be purely coincidental. I wasn't there and I don't even know BillBrew other than a few emails. I did meet Grivy as chronicled in The Denver stopover of the Arizona Expedition on another page on this site. This is merely my imagination running wild about a desert prospecting trip with the two of them based on my brief meeting with Grivy. I hope to join them on a desert prospecting trip in the near future. I'm a beer drinker too!

Footnote 02/27/2002
I have since met BillBrew and prospected with him in much of the same area. The beer truck/prospecting van has been replaced with an old jeep with the drivers seat propped upright with a piece of wood which occasionally falls out of place allowing the seat to fall backwards into a full-reclining position making for an interesting desert driving experience.

That was a good one!I can just imagine you two out there going at it in that creek! its a good thing that your camara fell into the Okanogan River after videoing me trying to cross it back in the NWminers Rally in Oroville, Washington! That was a lot of fun!

Here is another!!! Was back a dozen years ago, July 2002, on the SF Umpqua (Oregon) with over a thousand miners/dredgers hanging out in River's West RV Park in an event called the DEF Miner's Rally and most every night enjoyed a keg of BillBrew's rocket fuel and we hung around telling of our daily gold clean ups and other stories I cannot print. What fun!! Recall seeing Leonard running around in his bathing suit that was decorated in red/yellow flames. I drank way too much beer and could not find my wetsuit one morning. Met Grivy and Bill and Matt and about a hundred other crazy dredgers. We were camped next to Grivy's crew and they gave us some wild mexican food dish that was so spicy hot..well, can't tell the rest but wow!!! Everyone seemed to be into some gold and we did pretty darn well before ending that DEF 2002 week.

I have long wished for another such mining adventure, just one more in my life but I also believe that a human body can only tolerate one of those events in a single lifetime. Fond recollections, though.

The swimsuit wasn't me. I think it was Norm.

The old forum is still on line at http://golddredger.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi Read only. The 202 DEF is in the archives and around page 7 in the DEF topic.

I have not seen those photos, geez, it was a dozen years ago so my memory has faded. And all of this time I was thinking it was you, Leonard. Thanks for clarifying this.

Good times at the Screaming Diesel RV park where the water is warm, the gold is good and sleep is non-existent

DANG 02,
It was that long ago, shore don't seem like it.

Wasn't there, but read all about it, wasn't that when Matt tangled with law enforcement and video taping turned fiasco, I believe.

I wasn't there either but do remember following all the [posted] goings on! We were prepping to move to Alaska Spring of 03 and I couldn't swing it to attend but man I wanted to. The photos of all those dredges in one area and people everywhere!
