GOLD PANNING

Postby getterdone » Thu May 14, 2015 9:58 pm

Well it is all set to do the Gold Panning thing again here in Republic, WA.
During Prospectors day, which is held on the second week-end of June.
Love being able to teach the kids how to pan for gold this event is sponsored by the
local Chamber of Commerce. Kinross mines put up the money a number of years ago,
and I still have enough Gold for about 2 more years. The first time I got this started
the Chamber to gave me the money to buy the gold.
My Dad got Prospectors days started in 1955. Will not say how much gold the kids end
up getting, but it is more then the $5 it cost them to pan for it.

Great way to spend the day spreading the fever. We did many 100s of demos over the years. One question-where does all them $5 bills go to?John

Ben, that was great fun the one year that i did it, i had a bit of gold from the 40 mile that i salted the gravel with, there was no profit in it, just great fun. i dont think you need to worry about the 5 dollar bills john i have known ben for 40 plus years.

The Chamber gets all the money along with the Money I make for them calling Bingo on
Fri. evening after hosting the kids parade. Don't amount to a lot of money, but they have a need.
Only problem I see is just can't seem to get any of the younger folks to step up to the bat and
start taking over the actives we have been doing for the last 40 years. Kind of sad to say the least.
Gotta say when Gold hit's $18,000 a ounce, they will be begging you to teach them how to pan
for gold.

:D Not worried about nuttn' Bill, just wondered what charity/cause the funds went to as we always had a charity or need that we contributed to. No bfd just asking if,who so I could also contribute as my norm when I see such acts of contribution to society.John

:D Fantastic folks who help many. I have supported our Chambers Youth Leadership Program for many years. My office here has quite a few nice framed documents giving thanks for my help. Kudos again-John
