More Hoffman Info

Check http://starcasm.net/archives/371800 for the latest on the Hoffman's mining operation in Colorado. I always wondered how they got away with just throwing a pump into the Platte river and pumping away. Water rights are really closely controlled.

What I would like to know is when was that area zone residential.
They said before that there was mining going on there all along.
They mined there last year was it zoned residential then or is the an other liberal attempt to stop mining.

Excellent point DJR!

"Grandfathered In" is a concept that also comes to mind.

You would have thought that the research on the original issuing of permits would have found that little point.

You know, with the high power deal that this is, there really could be a spinoff -- "The Hoffmans Go to Court". The 'taking' aspect could go into at least a half dozen yearly episodes of appeals - all the way to the "Big One".
