Nice birthday on the creek

Postby libertydave » Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:05 pm

Had a nice 77th birthday celebration last Saturday. Spent the day alone on our Cascades claim getting out for the first time to enjoy a little prospecting/mining. Even found a few colors to help me celebrate the milestone...and I brought home a bucket of cons to run thru my concentrator.

Best of all my youngest granddaughter (age nine) called and told me she wants to go dredging with me this summer. Nothing serious, we'll use my little 2 inch dredge which will be just about the right size for her. Out of my six grandkids (all girls) she is the only one who has expressed an interest in gold mining.

Looking forward to our golden adventure together.

Excellent, Dave!

Working on 74 over here - just never had kids.

Jim,

Maybe I should have put it this way "Don't have kids - yet."

Passing along get-well greetings to Mike Tilden, my dredging partner of nearly thirty years, who is recovering at home from a heart attack. Together we were at DEF events in 2001-02 and both dredged the NF-MF Yuba, Feather, Klamath and Scott, Illinois, Similkameen, MF & SF Umpqua rivers, the Bering Sea...and numerous creeks together chasing gold. Get well, Mike! I wish him well.
