A whole lot more than I suspect I'll be able to show this summer.

I'm stuck in Idaho and it looks like the Canadians are going to keep the border closed and not let me in to spend gas money.

Oh well - hope springs eternal :?

Jim,

It's not the initial trip back north that is so much the problem. Medical things here mean that for at least another month I'll have to be sticking close here. Early August, if everything falls right (Yes, that was a pun) I could make the round trip for about a month. If I did that it would be 7 days of travel, 4,800 miles on the vehicle and one tired puppy - all for 3 weeks of actual time in AK. Oh yes, 14 days of that 3 weeks would have to be "Solitary Confinement", too.

Now, the virus panic comes into play. Yes, I can get BACK to Alaska, but if Canada goes squirrelly on me due to another panic of some sort then there I am, waiting and waiting for spring. That Exact thing happened to me in Australia at the end of March. I had to buy a PREMIUM second return ticket (cost more than the first round trip ticket cost and wasn't refundable since the travel agency boogied in the middle of the night). I had to do that just to make it out the next day - and - as it turned out I left on the last day any international flights were able to fly. Not a pleasant outlook since Australia still (I think) won't allow regular international passengers to leave or arrive.

So, unless something breaks loose soon I'll just have to catch up on 5 years of "Honey Do Projects in Idaho. At least up to now it has been cool and damp this summer.

Oh well, it may not have been a good idea, but it was an idea.
