Original gold screw

Postby MIKE MCKEEVER » Thu May 13, 2010 9:07 pm

HI GUYS

Looking for any info on the "original gold screw" -- good or bad. I have a friend who has a brand new one he wants to sell.
Is it easy to set up,what kind of quality, etc. This unit is brand new--$ 2900.00--is it worth the money? I'm going to look at
it in the next couple of days---im probably oing to buy it anyway but any input would be appreciated.

All the talk of trommels got me interested--

thanks----Mike

Been the best for many MANY years. only real problem is the feed ststem. You must manually unload oversized from the grating to introduce gravels to the system. We utilized a vibrating shaker screen to preclassify the gravels to facilitate more volume BUT caution as they can be overloaded and blow all the gold out too. Caliche gums up the works and a large volume of FRESH water is required so as to not plug/gum/screw up the sprayers, wheel and interior of the trommel-John -PS You have to discharge into a big sluice to recover the big nuggets that are between the sizes of the hopper screen and the trommel classifier screen too.

There are a lot of trommels on the market these days but most of them are only a rotating screen. The Gold Screw is one of the few that have a built in final stage recovery system, the spiral wheel. Some others discharge into a sluice but you still have cons to clean at the end of the day. The Gold screw will take bank run gravel and separate the gold in about one minute. They are the perfect answer to the dredging ban and will make you tons of $ in a good spot.

I have one for sale. Anyone interested can email me for details
