Oregon Sluicing??

Postby libertydave » Mon Feb 21, 2022 9:09 am

Would appreciate some help!

I'd like to plan a summer gold prospecting trip to Oregon with two of my grandkids. Was considering locations including SF Umpqua River, Grave Creek or Josephine Creek. I know that operating mechanical mining equipment (dredges) is no longer permitted in Oregon.

Does anyone know of the current regs on using manual sluice boxes on these Oregon locations? Thanks in advance.

Hey Dave,

I wish I could help but I don't know much 'bout Or-e-gone mining. Alaska yes, Oregon Not-so-Much.

I do have an idea though - how about calling Armadillo in Grant's Pass? If Samantha can't offer advice (-- Yeah Right!!! --) she might refer you to others who might help out.

541.476.6316 should get you talking in her ear mighty quickly if you call 9AM through 5PM any day of the week that ends in 'Y' except Sunday. They had 2 ads in the latest ICMJ - so they're still going strong.

Best of Fortune.
