* Gas for round-trip drive from Oklahoma to Colorado and back: $300.
* Price of a used Tesoro Lobo SuperTraq to "experiment" with: $450.
* Value of getting to be a part of this 15 minutes of history: Priceless.

We sat around camp the night before and talked about doing this. Leonard wanted to capture a real gold prospecting experience on camera. We thought merging dredging with metal detecting would be really cool, but kinda doubted we would find anything. He had exposed a deep crack in bedrock, but his first cleanup was not real good.

What were the odds we would actually film the finding of a Colorado nugget? I guess pretty high in hindsight.

I will remember this one for a long time Leonard. And it will be cool to show family/friends for years to come.

BTW: Detector is sold. A fellow Okie prospector is driving through town today with dredge in tow on his way to AZ/NM. He will stop just long enough to pay be a good price for the machine. Hope he finds the "city of gold" with it.

Cool thanks for the video, not often you see nuggets like that coming out of CO!

I ran my GMT along about 50 foot of bedrock downstream from you and found a lead sinker and a .22 bullet. I like yours waaaaay better. :D

You might get into more of that crack a little closer to the road. Also, if you have any crack snipeing tools, there could be more in the exposed crack. He had other hits along it but about all I could do to clean it was use the blaster.

Great video Leonard.

I enjoyed that.....bedrock is the stuff dreams are made of or off... ;)

I have one problem where I go sniping..........the area has fools golds in the bedrock....in the sun the pyrites flashes but
in the shade it's dull........when you see "gold" well it's just like you said in the ending of your video......something about A goat...

Most know but fools/sparkles/dulls........gold has A steady glow in or out off light.
It shines just like the star it came from.

Keep up with the video's.
