Janis sang.... freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.....

One Pennsylvania website devoted to the free cell phone agreements explains who could benefit from the new phone plan and how to find out if you’re eligible:

The fact is, a lot of Pennsylvania residents could use a little help right now. As of May 2011 the unemployment rate is a disappointing 7.4%. The fact that that is lower than the national average is of little solace to those Keystone Staters who find themselves without a steady income.
Fear not, Pennsylvanians. The Lifeline phone service program can help you get a free cell phone and free monthly minutes, from the government. At least that is one less bill to pay.
[...]
You are eligible if you receive benefits from any of these programs in Pennsylvania:
Federal Public Housing Assistance / Section 8
Food Stamps
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
National School Lunch (free program only)
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Medicaid
State Blind Pension
You may also qualify if your Total Household Income is at or under 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Kind of reminds you of Jesse Jackson Jr’s call for free iPods and laptops, doesn’t it?

As collectivized rights grow individual rights shrink.
If some men are entitled by right to the products of the work of others, it means that those others are deprived of the right to their own life.
Why are we sitting back and accepting this cannibalism as MORAL?
"As long as I am an American citizen and American blood runs in these veins I shall hold myself at liberty to speak, to write, and to publish whatever I please on any subject." – Elijah Parish Lovejoy (1802-1837)

Like this is new!!! I grew up in real poverty and even there it supports the lowest of the low. I spent alot of time in the projects, my family of three had to spend $185.00 a month for a roach infested apt.,while right next door lived 5 generations of our darker 'AMERICANS" that only had to spend $45.00 a month and they ALL worked, drove brand new Lincolns, collected over$2,500 in food stamps, got their bills paid, ect while the fact that my mom worked we got nothing. And people wonder why I'm cynical!!! I see people milking the system all the time.I'm really glad I was raised with a little pride, but it burns my butt sometimes that some people get preferential treatment even over this country's citizens and veterans!!(I am one!) But what do you expect!?!?!
