We had a lot of Forest Service ground burn up this past summer, they are
now removing the culverts on the roads they say to stop them from plugging
this spring. In truth this is a excuse so that they can keep us out of the
forest.

That's too bad, but, anymore, to be expected of them. Dammit.

If it happens where I may be, I think I'll use my shovel enough to be able to drive through, and if they question it, I will tell them I was helping them with erosion control.

I must have a different mindset. I've been using a quarter stick of dynamite to discourage beaver and nutria from stopping everything up.

Hate to say it but if the culverts were pulled the road has likely been permanently decommissioned.
A burned area management plan should be available from USFS. It's public info., inquire.

I'm with Au T, a little shovel work, drive on through.
Then USFS counters with large rocks, moving them is no big deal to do,
then USFS gets their panties in a wad, it's down hill from there.
Whats a miner to do ? Hike I guess

The one area that burned is about 30 mile long & 6 miles wide at the narrows spot. About half of that area on
the South end is on Indian Reservation where the fire started. The Indians have at least 20 logging trucks making
3 round trips a day to the saw mill with the burnt timber. The North half of that burn is on Forest Service ground.
Not one stick of timber has been harvested.
In another big burn area to the East the Forest service ground was adjoined by property owned by a
big Timber Company. The timber company started removing the timber before the smoke had cleared,
again the Forest Service has not removed one stick . Hows that for managing are Natural Resources.
Going to be interesting this spring when the mushroom hunters move in, like they have in the past
after a big burn.
For me this Burn has turned into a dream, before the burn the brush was so thick you couldn't operate
a metal detector in that area, but now that the brush is gone I can go and look for the Bluebird size gold nuggets
that were found in that area in 1898 by a old prospector. So after I heal from my Back surgery next
month stay tuned & watch for my pictures of gold nuggets. Like that guy said "I HAVE A DREAM"/
