you would think the govnator would redo the permits to let the prius on the hov lanes. that would be income for the state.

You may remember that in California, 85,000 lucky owners of three hybrid vehicles were granted special stickers giving them access to High-Occupancy Vehicle lanes, even with only a single occupant in the car.

Well, their luck runs out on December 31, the last day those stickers are valid. While Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill yesterday that extends certain HOV-Lane Access stickers for four more years, the ones for hybrids aren't included.

Instead, the extended stickers apply only to far less common green vehicles: Fully electric cars (including the Tesla Roadster and 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV), and those that run on natural gas (e.g. the Honda Civic GX) or hydrogen (a la the 2010 Honda FCX Clari

Get rid of the damn lanes all together, get rid of the red lights on the on-ramps, and get rid of the road signs saying, "your tax dollars at work". What a waste. On hwy. 50 in Sac, the state is building walkway overpasses next to existing ones because they are to steep for wheel chairs. Problem is that nobody uses them anyway. They don't put those dumb signs in front of those projects.

i would not buy one. the fuel savings are not there. i have been hearing a lot about braking systems that put back power in to a car. not bad untill you drive like me, all highway and i try not to use the brakes that much. i have some hilly twisty roads that i drive on. i will pull over just to let some one that uses there brakes all the time get ahead of me. most of the time i catch up with them.
