So then, why are there not hydro-electro plants at all of the 26 locks on the Mississippi River. For 50 years I have watched all that water flow down to the Gulf and been mystified as to why we are so DUMB!

There must be a reason, HUM????????????????????????????????????????????

Same same as here Russ as they have closed a dozen or so facilities because it channelizes the river as a few salmon "might" get traumatized by the screens to keep them out of the turbines. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOthe horrors of a frantic fish as we tear out dozens of dams that are paid for, producing electricity and water to ranchers and farmers(just lost their water rights) as the creeks are fenced off from the cows, horses oooo and coincidentally ALL the animals but that's ok as not salmon sic sic sic sic sic sic  John
