If you have a moose in your backyard, DON't TRY TO LEAD IT AWAY! It may not want to go! Leave it alone and it will go when it darn well wants to go. This is one of the first things we were taught when I was stationed in the Air Force in Alaska.

There used to be a video on line of a University of Alaska professor who was stomped to death trying to get in the front door of the University. He was not messing with the cow moose, just trying to get past it. This was when I was in Alaska about 25 years ago.

One interesting moose fact is that, unlike a cow or horse, a moose can kick sideways as well as it can kick forward or backward. Moose are nothing to be trifled with, and you can't outrun them.

Good tips - here's another from a buddy of mine that learned the hard way: Do not flash your lights at a moose on the road to try and get it to move. He did, and it promptly disassembled his VW bug.
