Special day

Postby dickb » Fri May 07, 2021 2:50 pm

Well today is a very special day for me and the wife.
Our 22 year old grandson graduated from University of South Carolina and received his 2nd Lieutenant commission in the US Air Force today. We could not be prouder of his accomplishments in life.
All the best to him as he moves on with his life and career.

I spent 7 years in the Air Force. It's a great organization. Good luck on their career.

Yes, I also spent a lot of time in the Air Force, as well.

Over the years I saw some folks who came in, disliked what they saw, created trouble for themselves and were soundly shown the door.

Others realized that even though they didn't fit in well they just 'soldiered on' and left with dignity and honor when their commitment was finished.

In my case, I simply chose to apply myself and made a career of it. I learned what I could and worked hard to make something good of the life I chose. The time flew by, I gained a lot and worked a lot. 39 years later I retired 'because it was time" - and even today I often miss the folks I served with.
