...but the Maint Fee Waiver option of filing only costs $10 annually per 20 acres...

$10.00 small miner's waiver annually for each claim, not every 20 acres.
I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing.
Now, I just have to find the time to put the dang thing together.

No arguement, just fact. I've been payin' the $10.00 small miner's waiver for 4 yrs now, on a 160 acre claim.
I haven't seen anything that shows any changes in that, just the maintenance fee increase already mentioned.

Below is a responce from BLM regarding this issue,....

"No matter what size the claim is, it will count as one claim under a waiver."

I can include excerpts of the complete coversation if you like. ;)

Hi George,
I concur that the $10 Maint Waiver Fee is based on a "per claim" basis rather than "per 20 acre claim" (as I stated previously). I don't file in that manner and I appreciate that information.

I was referring to this type of response...
Hoser wrote:hahahah YOU PAY $140 FEE instead of just doing the annual labor hahahahaha

I can go to the GPAA boards for that. You file you're way, I'll file my way... we all have our reasons. I prefer to discuss things in a civil manner and don't feel any appropriate reason why I should be jeered for filing the way I do, that's all. Many file the Maint Fee route like me and there a very good reasons for it. I'll leave it at that.

We're cool swizz, just wasn't sure you understood the waiver issue.
Hey, you file any dang way you want, makes no never mind to me.
We all have reasons for what we do or don't do and I'm sure you have yours. ;)

Happy prospecting! 8-)

No I wasn't there, didn't even hear about it.
As soon as I got wind of the fee changes I contacted Sonia Santillan.
That was back in April.
She has 30 yrs with BLM and has been a great help on many issues.
Very egar to help and quick with responces.

Glad you brought up the subject, no grief here.
Just like gas, some smell worse than others, but it all passes.

You are correct that you can do a small miners waiver, but only if you own ten claims or less. Our club has 13. But that is being remidied as we speak. But those fees take effect when and if you file for a new claim also. And if you belong to an association each member counts all thier claims. Example; a 120 acre claim has 6 associates, lets say one of those has 6 other claims, you'd loose your small miner waiver. And they are going after these type discrepencies! Not trying to start crud here, just relaying info.
