Is this the carpet you're referring to? I heard John mention Shaw Vernada in the past so I had my local carpet store order
48 sq ft of it. Looks like it would do a nice job. The close-up pic kind of reminds me of 3M Nomad in miniature scale.

Hoser, that is some darn nice looking carpet there buddy. Thanks Underburden for the pic, so I can see with my own eyes what all the hypes about. 8-)

Ub, If you don't mind me asking how much $$$ was 48 sq feet.
thats enough to to fit an 8"or a few 6's with new carpet. :mrgreen:

Glad to do it Russau as you can DREDGE and CGDJ can also DREDGE,in AK, and carpet doing nuttn' sittn' here. Just made it through yet another hurdle yesterday ay 4:40--saved $30k on new knee procedure :D and going to take PT to even get built up for the op and be 100% in shape for op #3 on the road to the great escape from a dredgeless society--HMMMM Leonards new claims sure sound interesting and battling polar bears, freezing waters and man eating mosquitos not included :lol: John

yes Bob thats it! mines going in today come heck or highwater! its replaceing my old miners moss that has become a problem for me!

Carpet comes on a 12' wide roll with the horizontal pattern going across the 12'.
I checked around with some of the club members to see who wanted some and who had the longest sluice box.
Guy with the 4' long box required buying 48 sq. ft.
Price was around $2.00 a sq. ft. which included the shipping cost to Orofino, ID.

If all you need is enough for your own sluice box, hook up with a couple more guys and share the cost.

just incasesomeone wants this it is made by Shaw and its name is Veranda #54163 unbacked but it is fairly stiff outdoor carpet.and its apox. 1/4 of a inch thick... its ava. through most any carpet store but theyll have to order it! John sdaved me on this one!! thanks John!

Now thats what I call a gold getter, Now all I have to do is figure a way to fit in my VW Bug! :lol:

all you need todo this is use a bunch of tiedown straps and ofcourse lots of duct tape! should be good to go!
