i watched a show last night about the salmon up in B.C. and now the wacos are jumping on the fishing boats for the loss of the fish! not a word about dredges now that theyre on a roll stopping everything!next itll be boating,the next itll be...........what gives these people the power tobe so "right" when everyone else is so "wrong" in their eyes?? i think we need to rethink our plan of attack ! we are stomping out little fires and we need to think bigger!

It's not those who are involved in dredging that have affected the Salmon run. It's the commercial fisherman, & Indian tribes, that can take Salmon by any method they deem necessary to catch that have ruined the run. I've not read anywhere that the Karuk Indians were ever authorized to fish such as they do. These are some of the very people who whined dredgers were hurting the Salmon run in the first place. What dredgers really do is stir up nutrients that feed the fish. Has anyone asked the fish their opinion on the subject? Are prospectors that choose to dredge not been affected too?

And what I found just baffling, was that our opposition were and maybe still are receiving backing and financial support from the commercial fishing industry.

Maybe it all is as simple as.... blame them so we don't get blamed. That leaves us gold dredgers where we are now big fat SCAPEGOATS, with a good helping of prejudice to top it off.
