The election

Postby golden optimist » Sun Nov 11, 2012 3:51 pm

This was sent to me.

STUNNED by the election results?

TWO QUOTES TO THINK ABOUT. BOTH ARE IMPORTANT AND BOTH WERE COMPOSED SOME YEARS AGO.
FIRST QUOTE:
ALEXANDER TYTLER, A SCOTTISH HISTORY PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH. APPX. 1770-1780. EXACT DATE OF STATEMENT IS UNKNOWN.

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

SECOND QUOTE:
SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE VOCABULARY TO SUM THINGS UP IN A WAY THAT YOU CAN QUICKLY UNDERSTAND AND THEY DO SO ELOQUENTLY. THIS QUOTE CAME FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC. SOMEONE OVER THERE HAS IT FIGURED OUT AND CAN PUT IT INTO WORDS AND DID SO SOMETIME AFTER THE 2008 ELECTION.. IT WAS TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH FROM AN ARTICLE IN THE PRAGUE NEWSPAPER, PRAGER ZEITUNGON. I CAN'T TELL YOU THE NAME OF THE COMPOSER, BUT IT IS INTERESTING HOW HE SAYS IT..

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.
The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President.”

Interesting that many thousands who voted for Obama are now being laid off . . .

Today's elected officials forget there is only one true law. Our founding father knew that. Today's officials don't care.

yep and a majority of Americans are just to lazy to want to look into how their elected socalled "representatives" go about business. i think if al Americans had donr their homework and did some research into these socalled "repersentatives" of ours, they would be voteing foe some other person! but that aint gonna happen!we are stuck with "we the peoples" choice. we need to move on,learn the rules, and play the game to benifit our Country and Her people to get us out of this mess our polititions put us in!
