5" power jet orifice diameter?

Hi everybody!
Can you help me, please?
I did a search but couldn't find much information, just this: A 5" jet log is 800mm long. http://www.dredgenz.co.nz/index.php/str ... t-jet.html )
What diameter orifice does a Keene, Proline etc 5" power (twin) jet have? Any suggestions on what diameter orifice I should use?

i dont own a 5 inch or have access to one, soooo why not contact the site you posted and ask them if someone here doesent respond to your question.but you need to say what pump/eng combo your planning on powering this jet.

I never tried to ask a seller how to build a xy piece of equipment. But why not? I can't tell you the pump yet. (It's will be a Dahlke, most likely.) I want to make a good plan before start the project.

if im not mistaken,i thought the pump needed tobe matched to the jet.

I searched Google for"dredge nozzle" and found a table that was helpful..my Keene p-180 has a 2 inch output..the last jet I made had a 8 inch piece of 1/2 inch black iron pipe for the reduction and that makes some major suction..I will be making a jet with a 3/8 reduction to see what that makes for suction..if you make your jet out of exhaust pipe experimenting is cheap! Find the hose you want to use and bring it to the truck parts store and get pipe that slides over the hose, slot the pipe so you can clamp the hose into it..fun easy project. Parker

A ten foot price of 4 and a half inch exhaust pipe is 49 dollars, the eight inch by 1/2 inch is 2.19 and the 2 inch to 1/2 inch is 2.90.

yep cheap enough! i looked/called all over St.Louis looking for 3 and 4 inch pipe. i found some at my favorite metal shop but couldnt find any place to have it bent untill i found a trade school that would bend it for me (for free) but 2 inch was their max. tobe able to bend. most muffler shops would only sell me full lengths of pipe, and it was a lot more than what you quoted. you got a good deal!

for a single entry jetlog,the P180 is the minimum size pump for a 5 inch . i would run the 2 inch high pressure hose all the way to the jet. where this high pressure line goes into the jet, id make its angle at 11 degrees,then id try reduceing the line after the 180 degree turn and just at the jet to 3/4 with a washer that is welded into but not protruding into the jet,and aimed exactly down the middel of the jet.and the suction line needs tobe as short as possible,maybe 10 foot long at the most!! not a 20 line!!! good luck!
