WINTER ICE

Postby MIKE MCKEEVER » Sat Mar 20, 2010 2:13 pm

I WAS GOING THRU AN OLD MEMORY CARD FOR ONE OF MY DIGITAL CAMERAS AND FOUND THESE PICS. ME AND MY BROTHER WERE BREAKING THE ICE SHELF OFF AND PUSHING IT DOWNSTREAM SO WE COULD DREDGE THE CHANEL.

:o I no longer possess the testiculiar fortitude of the magnitude required to partake in such insanity. But it WAS fun at the time. Never been in that much snow but when you have to remove the oil from the dredge daily and warm every day to insert to unfreeze the dredge--thats cold enough in Foresthill divide. tons a au 2 u 2-John

Goes to show that if there is a will there is a way. And the way can be of many.

Hoser John,
I totally agree with you one this, there is no way, no how, that I would be going into that channel... :o I would have to see a 4 ft wide quartz vein, going right in to a seam/crevice on the river bottom, for me to even consider it.
I love dredging just as much as the next fella, but damned, there has to be some serious guidelines arranged when you come upon something like this. I'll be the dredge tender for the day thank you..and I'll make sure my partner had lots of hot coffee, when I let him come out of the water.. I thought I had cabin fever bad, no I apologize, this is a really, really bad case of "The Fever."  :?
