Sounds like the 2000's in California. "Can't get wet rocks dry or get dry rocks wet" crap. If I was 10 years younger I'd be looking in Alaska for a large area that we all could go to as we wanted. Kind of like the old Buzzard and the very early GPAA. Good gold and no crap. My and my wife's healh doesn't allow it now. I'm doing ok but sure not what I used to be. The wife is pretty much homebound. It's still better than the alternative though. I don't mind not having to go to work.

Well as Russ and I are the spring chickens here at 67, I'll share my thoughts. I have been looking at Deming NM in the late winter, early spring for some Metal detecting adventures. At my age I don't really think that dredging is the best way for me to go, but I can shovel into a HB or Gold cube at a pace that keeps me sweating. I tend to think that is my best method to keep the fever from getting me down. Planning to head to Thermal in April and I'll run a load in two days to see if the gold gods still smile on me. Glad to see somebody else thinking about getting out and wetting their????????????? whatever.

Stay warm and keep chasing the yella stuff. :D

Russ:

I'll save you the trip. Doctors won't allow it. Sad, I certified as a diver in 58. Been down to 100' and under the ice, but no more. The tank and reg are setting in the garage collecting dust. So I get to sweat some more.

Russ hasn't gotten to the magic 70. When I was 67 I was invincible. Not anymore.

Well, Leonard,

I guess I'm at that invincible point - since I turned 67 last December.

I'm not complaining at all. I have a ton of great memories. I may move over to metal detecting.

Hello Dan, My winter project for the last 7 years since retiring is running a small water recirculater down in the deserts of Arizona. We don't find a lot of gold, but the gold down here is in the sky not in the ground, if you know what I mean!!! Can't wait to get back up there to McCoy creek and get under water!! Hope those environutz aren't trying to mess things up, up there? We will be back up there when the weather gets better!!!!!

See that is the real problem all the old sick people! We will just have to replace them with young healthy one's and fundamentally change the country.
Since they got the youngsters paying for healthcare now maybe they can get a free digging crew started at the same time.
