I've decided on the method I'll use for recovering gold from my many collected buckets of concentrates. Again...thanks...and I really appreciate all of your comments.

With so many enthusiastic about this product I've decide to go my local mining store and purchase...the "GOLD CUBE".

After getting the 'Cube' I plan on starting this project in a few weeks. I'm recently retired and frankly in no hurry but I will be pleased to share the results of this project. Again, thanks so much for your many suggestions and recommendations. Very much appreciated.

Just follow Mikes directions and clean the air bubbles off the Vortex before and if any pop up during use.you probly know the rest of the suggestions of adding wet cons to a wet system and all of that.

Any update on how it's going with the cube? Having success chasing all the -50 or even -100 gold out of the GC cons?

Dave,
Did you ever get a gold cube? I ordered one (4 stack deluxe) on Sunday and it arrived today. I can't wait to play with it.

Yup! Purchased the Gold Cube over a month ago for processing my 20 buckets of old cons stored out in my shop. To try out the Cube I ran a 'vintage' bucket I brought home after we dredged the SF Umpqua back in 2003.

Since this material had only been rough panned I first ran the material thru my recurculating concentrator Iit has Keene's Miracle Mat) and then processed the remaining cons down to 20 screen. As with any recovery effort the better the classification the more gold will be recovered. Several posts suggested I follow the Cube's instructions exactly as written and this was true as you need to get the trapped air bubbles out of the units unique mat design. I also ran the cons three times over just check on the Cube's fine gold recovery as I admit that I am a sleptic on new gold gadgets but I believe the Cube worked very well. What I recovered was 1.62 dwt., mostly fines under 40 screen. Not bad because we had removed much of the easy gold after we finished dredging eleven years ago. More to report as we get into the other buckets.

We'll have to get together Labor Day on the Arkansas. We had Gold Cube added to our approved equipment list.

That sounds like a plan. I didn't get the goldbanker attachment, since all I plan on using it for is dredge, sluice, and highbanker concentrates. Even that little highbanker produced a lot of cons last time we saw you for labor day 2011. I was never so tired of panning in my life. Now a whole days work will be cut down to one small pan of super concentrates.

If things go right, moneywise, I should have my own camp trailer this time. Last time we rented one in Texas and drug it up here. One of my old work buddies has a 2004 40' fifthwheel camper/toyhauler that he said I could have for $5400. It only has a 20' living space and the other 20' is a garage on wheels, more or less.

Just think, polekaat,

If, at the end of your trip you had set up the highbanker and very slowly and carefully re-run all those concentrates through it.

If the Gold was caught the first time it would be caught the second time and the lighter black sands would have mostly been processed and through the lower box.

A friend of mine used to set up a Le' Trap in his stripped out dredge sluice box and re-concentrate all his dredge concentrates at the end of the day.

I often do that sort of thing.
