Progress report on the fine gold recovery....

Went thru another four buckets of old (vintage) concentrates last weekend including the vintage "2002 DEF" bucket and a bucket of 2001 Klamath River (Savage Rapids) cons. All told, I (and the Gold Cube) have recovered another 2.13 dwt. Been learning how to make the GC perform. For me it works best when classifying the cons down to 16 screen or finer.

To answer a couple of emails...yes, I realize I could have processed all of these cons and recovered the gold years ago but I having been saving these 20 buckets for processing as a celebration of my recent retirement after selling my business, Liberty Resources. Cheers and gold to all!

After selling my equipment business last year I acquired a Gold Cube to process the buckets of cons I'd put away from numerous past mining adventures. Some asked why not process the cons after those dredging/high-banking trips instead of storing them for so many years. Guess I wanted to save these buckets for my retirement and for some fun in my later years. FYI, I no longer dive/dredge for health reasons and I've sold my dredging equipment.

Anyway, I went thru the last bucket this weekend and recovered 0.87 dwt. from dredging Oregon's Josephine Creek and the Illinois River in August of 1999. Two weeks ago I processed cons from dredging on the Klamath River (in July, 2001) near Seattle Creek...that produced 1.78 dwt. The final assessment...Gold Cube worked great, got down to a couple of cups of concentrates. For final finish work I used a blue bowl. All told the twenty-one buckets of cons netted me a gold total of 11.27 dwt. That's over a half ounce troy.

Best of all I enjoyed the fun in this effort and as well as the recollections of many mining adventures from years past. All the best...and gold to all.

Same way im thinking! what better way to get to America than have America pay for your trip and get you all setup on "our" dime!

I'm pleased with the Gold Cube for processing larger quantities of concentrates such as the 21 buckets of cons but I saw a promo for a Gold Fox trommel unit that attached to the GC. I never thought of the GC as a smaller-sized wash plant capable of processing material right from its source and was wondering if anyone has tried out one of these?
