Hey Gold Dredgers...
Well, we've had about a week of on/off snow from an unnamed winter storm that has been flowing from the West coast, thru Idaho/Utah to us...
All totaled, I'd guess about 18 to 24 inches. It's packed down a little under its own weight. I live in Buena Vista, Colorado, up about 8,500 feet, with Mt. Princeton to my South, Mt. Yale to my Southwest, Mt. Columbia directly West and the twin Buffalo Peaks to my immediate Northeast...
Coldest temp was Wednesday morning, 31 Dec 14, at a balmy 15.8 degrees below zero!
It was 7 below zero this morning when I snapped these pics....
So, might be a long while before I can get back to gold prospecting with all this snow/ice and subfreezing temps... Regardless, all the ski resorts are loving it, opening early, many with 50+ inches of base and already 120 to 150 total inches so far this winter!
Regardless, I wish all "Gold Adventurers" a Happy 2015 and a LOT of fun and gold!
