If Windows 8.0 is afterbirth, 8.1 at very least brought life back to the afterbirth.
Now there are pre-subscribing Windoze 10. Same sucking Metro UI to Windoze 8.
I think the dumbasses in product development at Microslop assumed the mobile movement, and didn't take into consideration desktop and corporate use.
Which really hosed them. I am guessing some of them got the boot because of it.
I have to support all of them, frankly version 8 was no OK out of the box. 8.1 was usable because you COULD get back to Windows 7 type interface.
I've not seen 10 yet, but Microsoft got so beat up by the Windows 8.0 debacle they had to bring back the WINDOWS 7 type user interface.
IT Techies like myself raised holy hell. I think we were heard.
in the Server arena they fucked a few things up as well but in general we are making things work.
I don't know if all the application developers have re-deployed their products, most are still used to the 7 stuff. Which will install.
There are ways to disable Metro UI and use the WINDOWS 7 interface.
