under water metal dector

Don't have any idea how much a used one would be,I lost my class ring many years ago and was thinking about inquiring about a detector n see if I can find it,maybe someone has already found it but it would be fun to look for it. It would be in about 3ft. of water in a lake here in Mich. don't want to spend an arm & a leg for one. any input would be greatly apreached. Barney-mi

Barney any MD should work fine for that as long as you don't get the control box wet. OR why not ask some metal detecting club if they could find it.

I have a md but didn't know if it would work under water, I could write the manufacture and get a extra pole to make it longer. ok thanks Russ have a nice day

WHAT MD DO YOU HAVE AS NOT ALL COILS WATERPROOF....go to kellyco.com and see if it is or post make/model as very knowledgeable folks here will help but just md tells nuttn' John

Finally got some time, ok I have a white's mxt tracker E-series with an eclipse 950 sn# 2207-0308-144
mxt (e-series)
800-0308
that's all I could find out on the dector. any help finding out if I can use the head under water or what head would work on this dector would be much appreciated. thanks in advance Barney-mi

The coil is supposed to be waterproof - but nothing else is so be careful. It would be a shame to lose such a great detector, if you can get your hands on a loaner underwater unit, that would really be the way to go.
