Getting warm!

Postby golden optimist » Sat Jan 07, 2017 6:34 am

It's only -8 outside this morning. A lot better than yesterdays -17. I'm beginning to think I'm back in Alaska. In 1965 when I left anchorage the high temp for 3 weeks was -20. I did some moose hunting at -55. Not anymore. I like to think I'm smarter now that I'm older.

The moose in Alaska are a lot happier too.

Take good care of yourself Leonard and remembers Spring is on the way.

That is the hope GO

Just about the entire state of Calif is under a small stream flood advisory
Melting snow and lots of rain in a short time could be trouble for our water storage
Not enough or to much, let it go or hold it back, someone is having a tough time sleeping at night :?
A lot of water down the rivers could be a good thing, stirrin things up :)

Look out those to the east

OC they ain't sleeping at the switch as MASSIVE amounts of water being dumped since Saturday. Down the sac out to the ocean . Bummer is rain has wiped out massive amounts of snow to over 7,000' so this summers snow melt water is being flushed down the toilet sic sic sic...John

It's better to let it down the river controlled, than uncontrolled

The last pineapple express we had in the 90's, the Turlock irrigation district damn near overflowed Don Pedro dam.
Civilian road that passes through the overflow channel was washed out for months
Water coming in faster than they can let it out.
A nightmare scenario for those that make those decisions
Also happened in the 60s

Unleashing that much water uncontrolled would be catastrophic down stream for sure  :o
Cant imagine the destruction as in the Malholand damn collapse
