About 10 years ago I carried a 6.5 Honda and pump up a 60 degree hill at Douglas Creek. That was 10 years ago though. Now it would take me a while just to get myself up the hill.

Getting up the hill is exhausting for me, but getting down it is downright dangerous. My legs have so little strength that once I get going down the momentum takes over and it gets crazy really fast. Once gravity takes over and the old body is moving faster than the legs your life starts flashing before your eyes.

Yes I did Leonard. It looks almost new. He said he only used it five times, but there's hardly even any dust on it. I am looking forward to using it when the weather warms.

This is the vac pack I got.

The back pack part will make things a lot easier, less trips because my tools can go in it, then it carries on my back which leaves one hand free for a bucket of material, the other hand is used for my cane.

It's going to have to dry out more than a little Harry. The Klamath River here is over the banks, the Scott River is a raging torrent. I have huge water falls coming down the mountain across the river from my house. I imagine it will be late spring to early summer before things will be dry enough to use the vac. Bedrock cracks hold moisture for a long time. It has to get really hot to dry them. The vac is a wonderful tool, but if there is moisture it makes life miserable. A lot of the gold I get down here is fine gold. I have to be able to wire brush the bedrock and if it is too wet it just smears and you can't vac it.
