Russ: I thought about what you said about contacting them. I'm very cautious now in what I do since I don't know what the official mining organizations are doing and don't want to get in the way of their work. What I do keep up on though is my end of the world on YouTube, and so I sent the Senators this:
Dear Senator:
In researching my video on modern gold mining methods I came across a mystery: that of the environmental organization heads joining the jet set, and spending huge sums of money flying all over the world (video here: https://youtu.be/TyCl-g8g7jU ) to conference after conference . . .
Something just doesn’t add up.
Since I’m on YouTube, have 10,000+ subscribers myself, mainly with films on modern gold mining methods, I figured the environmental organizations' YouTube channels would be massive . . . NOPE. From what I have seen, they have little real support, and very few views for most of their videos (to the point of largely being unwatched at all.)
Sierra Club: 4,597 subscribers (as of today)
Climate Action Network: 6 subscribers
Environmental Defense Fund: 2,104 subscribers
Friends Of The Earth International: 11,843 (which bills itself as: "Friends of the Earth International is the world's largest grassroots environmental network, uniting 76 national member groups and some 5,000 local activist groups on every continent. With over 2 million members and supporters around the world, we campaign on today's most urgent environmental and social issues. Strange - “over 2 million members” and you can’t even get .03 (3 percent) of them (60,000) to join your channel?
The only large one I found:
Greenpeace: 123,849 (which is far outnumbered by Patrick Moore’s 1,249,359 views on why he left Greenpeace ("Why I Left Greenpeace” - YouTube)
So the question amidst this backdrop of facts: in the last few years the environmental organization heads have made it their business to sue the states that allow independent mining and settle (CALLED SUE AND SETTLE CASES) for massive amounts of money. They’ve also joined the jet set in a big way. The question: WHY HAVE THEY ATTACKED THE INDEPENDENT MINERS AND STOPED THEM FROM WORKING WHEN THE INDEPENDENT MINING METHODS (MODERN GOLD DREDGING) IS OBVIOUSLY THE ENVIRONMENTALLY CLEAN WAY TO WORK?
Is there some collusion in their money making practices? A RICO violation perhaps?
Whoever investigates this will be soundly attacked. They won’t give up the money without a big fight - expect to be branded as bought by big whatever, against the environment, etc., etc., etc., but the fact is nobody who works in the water all day wants to pollute it - especially the independent mining community.
Thanks for your time.
